A little bit about George…

George has worn many hats in his 23 year career – B2B and B2C marketer, ideator, strategist, researcher, digital transformation advisor, social media whiz, entrepreneur, small business owner, teacher and coach. Although he’s worked with (and for) Fortune 500 businesses throughout his career, he’s an entrepreneur at heart.

As the founder and principal manager of Metric Centric, George leads a team of data engineers and market research analysts who are specialists in examining consumer attention. Metric Centric is a conversational analytics practice that helps organizations to better understand any marketplace through the analysis of key market intelligence. By measuring and monitoring voice-of-the- customer (VOC) data, Metric Centric enables the understanding of marketplace perception and sentiment towards brands, products, services and competitors.

Prior to Metric Centric, George was Vice President of Marketing Services at Penton Media where he created new ways to leverage Penton’s industry expertise and audience value to deliver the best content marketing and digital solutions for its B2B clients. George grew Penton Marketing Services to be a significant line of business for the company.

In 2004, George founded EyeTraffic Media, a performance-driven interactive marketing and consulting firm that provided strategic direction and campaign execution of digital marketing initiatives. EyeTraffic was responsible for tactically managing online marketing programs for companies such as Pfizer, DuPont, Mazda, Chevron, National Geographic, The American Cancer Society - and many others. Penton Media acquired EyeTraffic Media in 2011.

George regularly teaches classes at The American University, Georgetown University and The University of Maryland on topics of tech media and entrepreneurship. George earned a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from The University of Maryland and an MBA in International Marketing & Information Systems from The American University.

Fun fact about George – early on in his career, he worked for the Walt Disney Company in Theme Park Promotions & Marketing and had a chance to play the costumed role of a cast member character. Can you guess which one?
