A little bit about Jack…
Jack Westergom is Managing Director and founder of Manhattan Hospitality Advisors. Mr. Westergom is a veteran hotelier whose background includes asset management, hotel/resort operations, international marketing, investment relations and real estate development including many of the top 25 hotels and resorts in the world.
Prior to forming MHA, Mr. Westergom was a partner in Unique Hotels and Resorts, a hotel management company specializing in small luxury assets with average rates in the $300 to $1,200 per night range, including Cap Juluca in Anguilla and Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles.
Previously, Mr. Westergom was Chief Development Officer for Omni North America and had direct responsibility for developing and executing Omni’s brand growth strategies, including the successful expansion of Omni into the western United States, particularly in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Denver. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Westergom was Senior Vice President and founder of OLS, an independent management company specializing in distressed asset turnaround for banks, financial institutions and private investors. OLS’s management portfolio or 28 assets included the Four Seasons San Antonio, the Montrose and Le Park in Los Angeles and the Floridian in Orlando.
His international experience was developed as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Meridien Hotels International where he oversaw a staff of over 90 hotel executives and was responsible for launching the luxury Meridien brand in the America’s. His international marketing and branding tenure spanned 10 years. His Meridien experience includes the opening of over a dozen hotels in major gateway cities like Baghdad, Boston, Cancun, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Montreal, New Delhi, New Orleans, New York City, Newport Beach, Palestine, San Francisco, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vancouver and throughout Europe. Mr. Westergom also served as Senior Vice President for Princess Cruises, held senior operations and marketing positions for Omni Hotels in New York City, Atlanta, Boston and Hartford.
Mr. Westergom is a member of the ALIS Investment Conference Planning Committee, Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Mitchell’s “Meet The Money Conference,” and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. He is frequently quoted in LA Times, LA Business Journal, NY Times and other industry publications.
