A little bit about Abhay…

Bakaya has been a driving force behind the company’s development efforts and is responsible for growing the company’s portfolio of open and pipeline hotels to scale. In addition to leading an international team in the global expansion of 1 Hotels & Homes, Treehouse Hotels, and Baccarat Hotels & Residences across the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific, he spearheads broader strategic planning as the company explores new hotel and branded residential opportunities.

With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Bakaya brings extensive expertise in real estate and business development, having worked with esteemed brands such as Fairmont-Raffles Hotels, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott International before joining Starwood Hotels in 2017. Since then, Bakaya has held various development positions within Starwood Hotels where he has successfully orchestrated key deals, signing a mix of conversions, new build hotels, and mixed-use projects across the brand spectrum in several countries and regions.
